Four open workshops highlighting the collaborative and multidisciplinary vision of the project were organized.
Initially, the program planned for three workshops, but a fourth was added, further expanding the project's outreach and impact.
The first workshop took place in Aveiro, at University of Aveiro, to discuss the project progress and key technologies for the buildup of the proposed
infrastructure. The second workshop was held in Lisbon, at Instituto Superior Técnico, and focused on free-space quantum communications.
The third workshop took place in Aveiro, at Teatro Aveirense, and was the 1st Iberian Quantum Communication Infrastructure Meeting.
The event featured several demonstrations, showcasing advancements and practical applications in the field. The fourth workshop
also took place in Aveiro, at Altice Labs, and brought together experts to discuss the advancements and potential of quantum communication
technologies and to showcase demonstrations.

Workshop #1
Quantum Communication Networks
From February 26 to 27, the University of Aveiro hosted the Quantum Communications Network workshop, organized by the Quantum Communications Group of the Instituto de Telecomunicações, led by Professor Armando Pinto.
The event was developed within the scope of the PTQCI Portuguese Quantum Communications Infrastructure project and brought together national and international key players in the field of quantum technologies to discuss the implementation of the quantum communications network in its national and international aspects.
The Posters Session is intended to showcase work in progress in the field of Quantum Communications, covering any of the workshop’s topics:
Quantum Communication
Quantum Information and Computation
Quantum Cryptography
Quantum Sensing and Measurement Systems
Quantum Simulation
Quantum Enabling Technologies
Quantum Metamaterials
Quantum Information Theory
This session will provide an opportunity to present and discuss recent developments on this research field with researchers, allowing the presenters to gather relevant feedback regarding their ongoing work.
This project was funded within the DIGITAL-2021-QCI-01 Programme that has received funding from
the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No
